christmas will suck

"How dare you say my behavior is unacceptable!" Maroon 5 - Harder to Breathe

I've been really friggin busy at both jobs lately. We released a bunch of states at Intuit, rather, we are in final testing. But, thats good. Next step, burning it to the master cd.

At block, I've been hiring everyone into the payroll system. And actually hiring them on paper (well, electronically I guess, but you get the idea..) And that takes about 5 minutes per person. So I can get 12 people done in an hour. That's if all of the nessicery paperwork is filled out. Otherwise, it takes twice as long.

So In the past 2 weeks, I've hired and re-hired over 200 people. And, Im still not done. Plus, I have to hire all of the receptionists in Jan.

Suck.

And the payroll this week was a fucking nightmare. Because none of the new people had employee numbers yet, and the re-hires didn't remember their numbers, or weren't active yet. I had to have every single person put their time down on paper, and turn it in so I could manually enter it. Fucking A. Manual time sheets for 200+ people. PLUS, it wasn't like one day or anything. It was 2 weeks worth of time, for 200+ people. I almost didn't get it done. This past week, I've had 4 different people help me with the time cards. And, on Saturday, Carrie came in and helped me out. At 1:30, I got a phone call from my RFSS (Regional Financial Support Specialist - IE important job) Trish. She told me that I had 2 errors in my payroll and they were both because someone clocked in, but didn't clock out. She was also worried that I wouldn't close payroll in time. We were finally done at 2:15, and the deadline for payroll to close is 3pm. *WHEW!*

So I went shopping for Joy's wedding, and I found something to wear miraculously at the first store I went to. And, for $30.

I have finished my Christmas shopping, spent way too much on Jacob. I spent somewhere arround $250. I almost died after I totaled it up, but it's our first Christmas together. Gotta make it special right?

Speaking of Christmas, I am having wiligia (Vah-lee-ah) at my house this year. It's this polish/catholic dinner thing, and you eat certain foods, and certain traditions, yeah yeah yeah. So, anyways I'm having Mom, the kids, gram (ugh), Jay (mom's boyfriend), Stelle, and Don. I invited Mack, but I highly doubt (read, hope) that he is not coming. Things are stressful enough, I don't want him to be causing more.

And, here is why Christmas will suck. Jacob and I agreed to spend Christmas dinner at my Mom's place. See, Jacob and I spend Thanksgiving with his family at CA Adventureland. I had a good time, and it was a non-traditional way of celebrating. Everything was fine, until we went shopping with Stelle a few weeks ago. She asked us what we were planning on for Christmas, or something to that effect. Jacob told her we are going to my Moms. Later that night, she told Don that we weren't coming over their house for dinner. Don called and left a msg on the machine. When we got home, Jacob called him back, and explained that we are not having dinner with them, but, we are more then happy to go over in the morning and have breakfast and do presents there. Jacob got off the phone and told me that everything was fine.

That was until yesterday. Don pulled Jacob into his office at work and told him that he was really upset that we weren't spending Christmas together. Jacob gave me the rendidtion of the convorsation:

Don: I'm really upset that you guys aren't comming over for Christmas. You promised us last year that we would spend the holidays together.

Jacob: Well, we are going to come over for breakfast, and we didn't promise anything. We just didn't want to go to LA this year.

Don: Mack only has a glass of milk for breakfast. So that won't really work out. I can't make food for everyone else while he sits there. You know, I do alot for you guys.

What. The. Fuck.

I don't even believe he is pulling that card! You know, I never like to take people up on their generosity, because I am ever-so fearful that one day, it will come back to haunt me with. "Remember when you were down and out, and I helped you? YOU OWE ME BIG." And that is exactly what his dad is doing. I knew that the whole time I was living with them, that someday, it would come back to hurt me. But what could I do? I had no where else to go. Don has got me a job at intuit the past 2 years, and Jacob the past 3. He threw this extravigant 21st birthday party for Jacob in Vegas. He's paid for every activity we go to as a family, hes paying for our rooms and airfare to vegas this week for the wedding, and when we go to dinner, he always pays for everything. And, I tought it was just cause he was a really great guy. But, I knew deep down, that there is always a hidden agenda.

So, Jacob are still goign to my moms. After all, we spent Thanksgiving with his family. We are spending the weekend after Christmas with his whole extended family in Vegas. you can't ask for much more. But, I guess blood is possible from a rock.

I say, that both families are lucky to even catch a glimpse of me at Christmas. I am ready to drop over dead from working so damned much. I honestly wish I could just have xmas eve with everyone here, and, then, on xmas day, Jacob and I spend the day together eating frozen foods, watch HBO, and open gifts. What is so demanding about that?

fuckin a.
