I'm alive
Jacob and I are safe. Thankful for everything we have.
My Mother is safe.
Jacob's parents are safe.
Mack is safe.
We all have out homes, and our posessions. THOUSANDS were not as lucky as we are.
I am having so much trouble breathing because of the fires. The air is so thick with smoke. It was pitch black outside today arround noon.
I just can't believe how much is really gone. Almost 300,000 acres, 2,000 homes. And they can't even begin to total a dollar figure. I just can't begin to explain to you the disaster area this actually is.
So many MANY people homeless. So many children. So many lives lost. So much is just burned. Everything smells like smoke. Food tastes like smoke, my clothes, my hair, the car is covered in ash every morning. I just can't expalin how horriffic everything is.
It has been an emotional rollercoaster for everyone. Scurrying to pack pictures, important paperwork, medication, some clothes, and a few personal items, and you are rushed out of your home, wondering if you will ever see anything that you have left behind.
And when you are able to return, what will you return to? Will it all be there? Will it all be gone? Will all of the houses on the street remain, except for yours?
It's the scarriest thing I have ever lived through. Honesly.
You are litterally helpless, as is everyone else arround you. You are in panic mode. As much as you try to stay calm and rational, your body will not let you. Adreniline fills you, and throws you into overdrive.
The fires are still burning. Homes are still being lost, exacuations still happening. It is far from over.
